When you plug in the USB cable from the Warp Drive to your computers PCMCIA or PCI card USB adapter, the computer may give you an I/O error when trying to access the drive, or may give you a blue screen which prompts you to reboot your computer due to a fatal error.

This is caused when the USB port you are using to plug the device into does not have the power rating to power up the external hard drive. This is most common on a laptop PCMCIA card or a PC’s USB add-on card.

Method 1
If your USB adapter card came with an optional power adapter, plug that adapter into your card to give the Warp Drive the proper power it needs to power on. You must plug in the power first and then connect the USB cable to the Warp Drive.

Method 2
Use the supplied PS2 power adapter that came with the Warp Drive. Depending on the brand of the hard drive you use, this may or may not be enough to give the additional power it needs to power up.

Method 3
TRITTON offers an optional AC Power adapter for the Warp Drive 2.5". This is a 5V DC 2A power supply with a Plosive Inside and Negative Outside connector. The TRITTON branded power supply can be found online at PC Snapper (www.pcsnapper.com).
