The most recent firmware addresses some issues that the first shipment of AX Visors had. The first shipment of AX Visors are distinguishable by the screen printing on the large button. If it looks like this:

In order to perform the upgrade, you must first download the Upgrader, and the most recent firmware from the download section for the Visor.

Here are the instructions. Not many people will have to do this because all shipping units have the latest version of the firmware:

You can only run this on XP at this time.

Copy both files to your desktop, one is the setup application, the other is the firmware.

2. Run the setup application, reboot when complete

3. After your computer is back up, plug one end of the USB cable into a REAR USB port on your computer, then while holding down the “–“ key on the Visor, plug the other end of the cable into the visor. At this point the screen on the visor should read “Updating”, and it should show the firmware number.

4. Next your computer should come up with the found new hardware wizard, DO NOT allow it to search windows update. After this it should ask if you would like the computer to automatically install the driver, ensure that it IS selected to automatically search for drivers.

5. After this it should start installing, and it MAY come up with a dialog box indicating it is looking for a driver, btusb2.sys

6. This is located in X:\program files\trittonbc200\usb, where X is the path of your hard drive where your program folders are housed.

7. From this point it should allow you to complete the wizard.

8. At this point you MAY have to unplug the USB cable from the visor, and re-plug it, again holding the “–“ button while you insert the cable. At this point the computer should make a sound indicating a USB device was plugged in, however it will not bring up the wizard.

9. Next run the BC200 updater application, there should be an icon on your desktop, otherwise it is in the folder  X:\program files\trittonbc200.

10. In the updater, click the search button, and navigate to the firmware you downloaded previously, select it and click “Open”

11. Click the “Start” button. The visor screen will go black, and you might hear static from the speaker, this is normal.

12. When complete your Visor screen should show the words “Charging”.
